This is the second time of signing our support as GVP continue with their onslaught of Woolley Valley. Looking forward to a positive outcome to the final court battle.

How shortsighted the council are as this is a lovely valley and should be saved.

A Thomson said:   June 25, 2011 1:08 pm PST
I took a wrong turn tonight and found myself driving a circuit of this valley in falling light, the clichéd phases like "enchanted valley" and "a land that time forgot" were made for this valley, perfectly proportioned, such an intimate scale, lovely balance of meadow and woodland, beautiful old stone houses and farms no doubt carefully preserved at expense to the owners. What a perfect place, just a few steps outside the suburbs and for all to revel in with footpaths to walk across the fields and meadows to sit. What a blessing for Bath! I noticed the green boxes that lined the horizon in places and wondered what they were, and saw the "save woolley valley" signs which is how i ended up on this site. What a shame and what a low person who decided of all the available farm land to do the most visually disruptive method of farming i remember seeing in a place like this. I can't understand the sense in making an exception for a temporary type of structure if it is to be there indefinitely but it is a common way around planning laws the world over unfortunately. Good luck with your fight!

This beautiful valley should be for protected for everyone to enjoy.

Frank Jay Ackerman said:   June 22, 2011 10:13 pm PST
I try to go to your beautiful valley each time I visit England. It is so beautiful and so Old England. It would be such a disaster if it were to be destroyed. Keep up the good fight.

Save the valley!

Alan Randall said:   June 21, 2011 10:56 am PST
This beautiful valley must be preserved.

Janine Brice said:   June 20, 2011 12:40 am PST
Went through your beautiful countryside yesterday and no, no-one has the right to spoil it. Good luck with the fight.

This is a disgrace. BANES, you should be ashamed -- get your act together before it is too late

John Roy said:   May 1, 2011 2:56 pm PST
Its terrible that beautiful spot is being so destroyed, a desecration

Paul Stansall said:   April 20, 2011 4:04 am PST
No commercial organisation should be permitted to flout planning laws. BANES needs to act now.

Moira Young said:   April 20, 2011 4:02 am PST
Planning laws should be strictly enforced to preserve this important site.

Kay Hinde said:   April 10, 2011 3:51 am PST
I am at a loss to understand how BANES can allow their refusals for planning permission to be so blatantly ignored. This must be stopped now.

Jane Warren said:   April 5, 2011 6:22 am PST
The National Trust continues to support this campaign. This is our future and needs to be protected for the benifit of everyone.

carole hughes said:   April 3, 2011 11:03 am PST
You have my total support.

Lance Cross said:   April 2, 2011 3:47 am PST
This is crazy. Why isn't the local authority responding firmly to the contempt being shown for its planning refusals?

Vicky Drew said:   April 1, 2011 12:54 am PST
I went to school in this area and grew up wandering the lanes and enjoying the countryside. I attended a meeting where your impassioned plea to the B&NES cabinet clearly fell upon deaf ears with more referrals and bureaucracy but no action. The delays in the council sending a very clear message to Golden Valley Paddocks that they must stop immediately the damage they are doing could mean the loss of the valley forever. This project ethically, has no benefits for the wider community and the development will benefit the few at the expense of the many. I urge you to challenge the council vociferously and use the local press, hassle Cllrs and make your voices heard louder than ever before. You have been doing a great job so far. Best of luck and I wish I could help.

Penny Underwood said:   March 28, 2011 4:50 am PST
What is the point of having planning laws if they are ignored? Good luck with your pretition.

tony howell said:   March 27, 2011 9:25 am PST
A senseless and unnecessary despoliation of a beautiful valley. Common sense and decency must prevail.

Suzanne Bokacz said:   March 26, 2011 3:55 am PST
Its time local authorities started making the sense. I believe BANES is now on a par with North Somerset Council for poor decision making. Get a grip.

Another case of whoever has the most money wins...

Roger Forshaw said:   March 22, 2011 1:33 pm PST
Hope you get enough support to stop this development - & save the valley

Jane Wakefield said:   March 22, 2011 5:20 am PST
Shocking that the Council has allowed this to go on for so long!

John Lippiatt said:   March 21, 2011 1:18 pm PST
Best of luck

Gwyn Lewis said:   March 21, 2011 11:33 am PST
I totally oppose this development.

Ann Moon said:   March 20, 2011 9:48 am PST
Whats happening is a disgrace. This beautiful area MUST be preserved at all costs. Why is it taking so long to stop it, surely it is commonsense that must prevail.

Emma Ferrier said:   March 18, 2011 4:08 am PST
How extraordinary that the council would flout its own ruling of refusing (quite rightly) the planning application for this monstrous development, but then lose all the advantage by not following through and making GVP return the land to what it was before they started their illegal destruction. It's about time the council grew a backbone!

Miles Mitchell said:   March 17, 2011 6:04 pm PST
Go for it, It's about time we all said enough is enough.

Sylvie, Mike and Thibault Swindells said:   March 17, 2011 6:54 am PST
As local residents (we live a stone's through from Woolley Valley) we often walk to this beautiful Woolley Valley which offers stunning views of the British Landscape. Nature is so paramount and must be respected and preserved! PLEASE STOP ANY DEVELOPMENT IN WOOLLEY VALLEY! ENOUGH OF NATURE DAMAGE AROUND THE WORLD! SAVE OUR WOOLLEY VALLEY RIGHT NOW!

Paula said:   March 15, 2011 12:20 pm PST
This whole sorry affair goes from bad to worse. Where is the Council's backbone and authority? Who is boss?

Moreen Davie said:   March 15, 2011 12:04 pm PST
Like all councils that I have dealt with, they will do exactl as they please

Dagmar said:   February 23, 2011 1:05 pm PST
May the ecological concerns and the law prevail.

Debbie rayner said:   February 23, 2011 6:45 am PST
This outrageous act of eco vandalism must be stopped NOW.

Bob Child said:   February 1, 2011 4:23 am PST
This is a wonderful area and needs all the protection it can get! This is a blatant abuse of planning regulations and a useless council not to enforce the order.

Howard Arrowsmith said:   January 31, 2011 5:30 am PST
I fully support your fight and will gladly make a donation. How BANES cannot or will not do this on all our behalf is simply staggering. They are inept.

rebecca horton said:   January 26, 2011 1:46 am PST
Please don't build on this lovely valley

Fiona said:   January 19, 2011 11:08 am PST
this is a grotesque act of vandalism.

Dave McCourt said:   January 18, 2011 2:39 pm PST
I was very lucky to stay in the valley a few years ago. Very beautiful. Keep up the good fight!

Christina Padovani said:   January 14, 2011 9:55 am PST
I love the views of the surrounding countryside which can be enjoyed even from the centre of Bath. They are a welcome sight in a small town which suffers badly from traffic congestion.

Anthony Feiler said:   January 9, 2011 2:02 pm PST
If this exquisite valley is built on by voracious developers, what hope is there for saving other beautiful, fragile environments?

Steve Hartley said:   January 2, 2011 6:38 am PST
Keep up the good work. Let's hope the planning authorities remember who they are accountable to.

anne fraser said:   January 1, 2011 8:24 am PST
drove through your beautiful valley by accident this week and saw your signs. Good luck! Sadly, it's the same everywhere, but it's worth fighting for.

David Flower said:   December 20, 2010 6:48 am PST
In the summer holidays a group of us from Larkhall used to cycle from Larkhall to Wooley. Wooley was so peaceful, quiet and full of schoolboy adventures

Simon Potton said:   December 19, 2010 1:31 pm PST
I wish you well and will now donate to the fund.

Alison holden said:   December 6, 2010 7:56 am PST
Keep it green

Erica Smith said:   December 1, 2010 12:15 pm PST
Having cycled several times through Woolley and enjoyed strawberry teas there, i know what a good community you have there and I am outraged at the photos of What Golden Valley have done so far which shows they have no sense of how to farm in thecountryside.

Julie Robinson said:   December 1, 2010 3:21 am PST
Don't give up this battle! It's a complete injustice and BANES should be ashamed of their ineptitude.

Matthew McCall said:   November 28, 2010 2:59 am PST
such beautiful places need to be protected not destroyed!

Adam Warfield said:   November 23, 2010 12:04 am PST
It is disgusting that this has been allowed to happen.

Robin Anderson said:   November 22, 2010 4:28 am PST
It is appalling that a commercial firm thinks it can flout planning laws. Good luck with this important campaign
